Check on the 2011 figures for the tablet market out there.

the article is looking back on the sales forecast of different analysts and tack the history of their predictions.

What we can conclude is that 2011 sales were probably between 50 to 70 millions, latest forecast from IDC showing 62 million sales with Q4 forecast and real Q1-Q3 figures.

For a market that was CREATED on year ago, if you take for instance an average selling price of 400$, it’s an impressive 25 billion $ market just one year after it’s been created. Wow. Probably one of the fastest technology adoption ever. I’ll try to look back on the iPhone launch in a future post, to see how fast it went.

Apparently, they’ve sold 5.5 million Kindle fire in less than a quarter, since the Fire was launched 15 November in the US …  Impressive figures as it’s almost a 10% market share for 2011, in just about 1 month and a half.

I was right to point out in a previous post ( forecast of Kindle sales at 3.9M) that 2012 will be the maturing of this market with a low-end segment adressed by Amazon and High-End with Apple. What is Samsung doing, this we’ll need to know. Intrestingly, Samsunh is not releasing any tablet volumes since Q2 2011…

I’ll keep you posted on those interesting market figures
