Top 10 productivity iPad apps – App Annie’s figures

Since June 2012, the top 10 productivity iPad apps in the US AppStore have not changed a lot but a new kind of application have appeared.

Note taking apps are still a hit with paid apps (60%) and keep a straight line among free apps (40%)
Thus, note taking apps establish themselves as the key apps in the top 10 productivity apps!
New applications rank in the top 10 productivity iPad apps. Bento 4 iPad, iA Writer in the paid apps Agenda Calendar which was ranked in June 2012, disappeared.
Apple apps (Page, Keynote, Numbers) are still top-ranked and keep the best iPad application status.
In addition, some interesting changes to note:

• 20% of paid apps are for reading PDF files and annotating them: PDF expert, iAnnote PDF.
• 60% of paid and grossing apps are note taking apps.
• 10% of paid and grossing apps are only for reading files: Goodreader and Documents to Go.

Thus, the top 10 productivity iPad apps are increasingly for taking notes, managing files and since July to annotate PDF files.

Looking at those numbers, it seems that business users are eagerly seeking to improve their efficiency at work by using dedicated apps.
