With rumor of iPad3 going live in AppStore for Feb. 2012, time to ask ourselves what’s in it for us, business people. Ok, a new retina display with high resolution of 2048×1538 pixels. It will definitely look nice but won’t change too much the way we interact with it. They’ll probably pack it with a new processor as well, but frankly when you’ve used the iPad 2, you don’t need more power to run business apps. What do we need as business people in the tablets to make it a perfect mobile desk ? On my side: – USB connection definitely. I know apple is not fond of connectors but since most of us have Wi-Fi only iPads, not so easy to use wireless as a universal access to documents, especially if they’re stored on a company server. – Pencils support. OK, I know Apple is not into it as well and frankly, i’ve been testing current pencils: I hate them. The feeling is very unconfortable and it’s definitely not precise enough. But please, can’ we do something to have high precision pens for iPad ? especially with this new resolution, it could become quit interesting to target a small area on the screen. – Virual laser keyboard, as in this youtube video that was playing around at the iPhone 5 / 4s release keynote. The current keyboard in landscape mode hides most of the screen and for us developers, we definitely play with a small part of the screen to pack our data. I wish Apple could do something about that For the rest of it, i’m interested in your comments on what is of the most importance for you to be able ti efficiently run your iPad as a business tool
